Audi increases flexibility at Ingolstadt plant
A3 now also to be assembled in Hungary

Ingolstadt/Györ (ots) - With the recently updated Audi A3 enjoying considerable, sustained popularity and the launch of the new Audi A4, Audi has reached its capacity limits at the Ingolstadt plant. The company management has therefore decided that the Audi A3 is also to be assembled at the Györ, Hungary, plant in future. The Györ plant offers a sound basis and wide-ranging experience for assembly of the Audi A3. The Hungarian subsidiary AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. has been handling assembly of the Audi TT since 1998. Over 115,000 of the TT have since been built there. Audi is an international developer and manufacturer of high-quality cars. The company maintains production sites in Germany, Hungary, Brazil, China and South Africa. In 1999, Audi sold around 635,000 cars and produced more than 1.2 million engines, bringing in sales revenues in excess of DM 29.6 billion. The Audi Group currently has over 49,000 employees. ots Originaltext: Audi AG Im Internet recherchierbar: Communication: Corporate and Finance Joachim Cordshagen, Tel: +49 (0) 841 89 36340 or +49 (0) 172 910 44 68 e-mail: Jürgen De Graeve, Tel: +49 (0) 841 89 34084 or +49 (0) 172 914 29 68 e-mail: Original-Content von: Audi AG, übermittelt durch news aktuell
