Group net income for 2000 still expected to climb a good 30 percent over the prior year
During the first nine months of 2000, the Vossloh Group achieved sales of EUR 599.5 million, thus exceeding the year earlier EUR 579.0 million and the budgeted EUR 591.4 million. Group earnings of before interest and taxes (EBIT) EUR 43.3 million fell short by EUR 3.1 million of the year-earlier but yet exceeded the budget by EUR 1.3 million. Group net income per share in the first nine months of 2000 amounted to EUR 1.0. As expected the year-earlier EUR 1.32 per share could not yet been reached.
Further improving performance is expected for the fiscal year as a whole, with Group sales set to reach EUR 820 million, thus exceeding the budgeted EUR 790.1 million by 4%. EBIT should reach EUR 64.6 millions, thus exceeding the preceding year's EUR 48.4 million by 33%. Group net income is set to improve to EUR 23.6 million, meaning 7 percent above the budgeted EUR 22 million and 33 percent above the year-earlier EUR 17.7 million. Group net income per share is thus likely to surge to EUR 1.64 for the year 2000 (up from EUR 1.23 for 1999).
