PC-Ware Information Technologies AG, which has been listed on Frankfurt's Neuer Markt since May 5, 2000, and Nasdaq-listed Programmer's Paradise Inc. have signed a Letter of Intent. According to which PC-Ware will acquire 100% ownership of all European subsidiaries and branches of the US software specialist before the end of the year. This strategic move means that PC-Ware will significantly expand its European presence and accelerate the internationalization announced on the occasion of the IPO.
The takeover targets, such as Logic Soft in the Netherlands, ISP*D in Germany as well as other companies in France, the UK, Italy and Austria, provide software management and software licensing services to customers throughout Europe. They will ideally complement the PC-Ware portfolio in this business segment.
As a result of the takeover, PC-Ware will significantly expand its customer base, which today comprises more than 12,000 contractual customers, and make inroads into important customer groups such as banks, insurance companies and industrial corporations.
Moreover, the takeover will give PC-Ware access to new distribution channels, which will facilitate the Europe-wide distribution of the company's services in the area of software support as well as PC-WARE software, such as the website management "in4meta", and the electronic licensing technology.
