In the course of further concentration on the core activities refractories and insulating, RHI has sold the share it holds in Connect Austria GmbH, the operator of the mobile telephone network One, which amounts to approx. 1%, to the majority owner E.ON AG. This sale is subject to the approval of the national regulatory authority.
Together with Viag (now E.ON), Telenor and Tele Danmark, RHI set up Connect Austria GmbH in 1997 and obtained the third mobile telephone license in Austria in 1998. In the course of a change in strategy, RHI no longer pursues the further expansion of the telecommunications segment.
