London, 19 Oktober 2009 - UBS Investment Bank informed us on 19 October 2009 that UBS AG, London Branch, acquired convertible bonds of Air Berlin PLC on 15 October 2009 which, if the bonds were converted into shares during the conversion period from 17 November 2009 to 15 August 2014, would convert into 3,591,022 voting ordinary shares in Air Berlin PLC. This represents 4.68% of the Company's total voting rights on the date of acquisition. UBS Investment Bank also informed us that, as of 15 October 2009, UBS AG, London Branch, held 23,455 voting ordinary shares in Air Berlin PLC (0.03% of the Company's total voting rights). The aggregate number of voting rights which UBS AG, London Branch would hold if the convertible bonds were converted into shares would be 3,614,477, which represents 4.71% of the Company's total voting rights as of 15 October 2009.
