The extraordinarily positive economic development of the last years is continued throughout the year 2000. Net sales for the whole year is expected to increase to 204 million DM.
With just over 50 million DM, ELMOS Semiconductor AG has achieved the highest quarterly net sales in the history of the company. The increase exceeds 18% in comparison to the same quarter of last year. The gross margin of the 1st. Quarter reaches 50% of net sales. In comparison to the same quarter of last year, we were able to increase our gross margin by over 34%. The income before tax was 12.6 million DM, or 25% of net sales. Net income of 6.9 million DM remains after tax, which means an increase of 50% compared to the same quarter of last year. With this, ELMOS AG maintains its leading position among the European semiconductor manufacturers.
Received orders of 64.7 million DM were 76% higher than in 1st. Quarter 1999.
The ongoing internationalization is reflected by growth of US sales of 40% in comparison to the same Quarter of the previous year. The main markets in Germany and EU remained at 17.6% and 20.6% of net sales respectively.
ELMOS Semiconductor AG is a developer and manufacturer of custom specific integrated circuits, based in Dortmund. For more than 10 years, 85% of net sales have been achieved in the automotive electronics sector.
