DEAG extends Board of Management to include Entertainment Media & Commerce Division
DEAG (Deutsche Entertainment AG) is extending its Board of Management to include a member of the division for Media & Commerce. In this division, DEAG brings together all activities relating to the additional multimedia application of company contents, such as the concert, variety and musical events: TV production, ticketing and e-commerce, sponsoring and event marketing, as well as merchandising extend the value chain of the core products of DEAG.
The Entertainment Media & Commerce Division has already been established since the end of November 1999, and in view of its enormous growth potential over the coming years it will in future be fully represented on the Board of Management by Dr. Martin Fabel (33), who has been appointed to the Board beginning 1st July. He has considerable experience as a consultant for one of the leading international management consultancy companies. Since joining DEAG at the time of its IPO in September 1998 Dr. Fabel has been responsible for Strategic Business Development and Communications and has been decisively involved in the progress of the development of the division Media & Commerce.
In addition to starting up the merchandising joint venture together with the Sunburst AG, and the development of marketing and sponsoring operations, previous activities in this field have concentrated on the creation of the foundations for a company-wide Internet strategy for DEAG. Numerous pilot projects with start-ups, media companies, and consumer brands companies have shown how attractive the DEAG-contents are.
A key to successful e- and m-commerce operations is a modern ticketing set-up. Because the cooperation agreements with CTS Eventim AG have been inoperative, DEAG is now planning to develop its own business activities in this area together with strong business partners.
