In the business year 2000, secunet Security Networks AG have increased their sales by 61% to EUR 18.0 million (previous year EUR 11.1 million). Thus the company has grown in a considerably higher degree than the entire market for IT security. With sales of EUR 7.0 million the very strong fourth quarter 2000 has again played a decisive role in this development. This corresponds to an increase of 63% as compared to the fourth quarter 1999 with sales amounting to EUR 4.3 million.
In the business year 2000 secunet achieved an EBIT of EUR 5.7 million. Thus the EBIT loss has increased by 24% as compared to the previous year where the EBIT amounted to EUR 4.6 million (including the IPO costs amounting to EUR 2.4 million). Earnings for the year 2000 after interest and taxes amount to EUR -3.5 million. This corresponds to earnings per share of EUR 0.54. The establishment of international locations, the setting-up of a training centre, and the large increases in personnel figure prominently on the cost side. Due to these investments secunet is in a very good position to carry on with achieving sales increases exceeding 40% and to reach profitability in the year 2001.
