Aßlar (euro adhoc) - Asslar, 16 February 2011: Pfeiffer Vacuum is publishing its provisional, unaudited results for the 2010 fiscal year. These show the company has increased its sales revenues by 21.1 percent to EUR 220.5 million (prior year: EUR 182 million). Positive developments in its core business throughout all areas, as well as the first-time inclusion of EUR 17.3 million in sales of Trinos Vakuum-Systeme GmbH produced this excellent result. Operating results of EUR 52.9 million demonstrated even higher growth of 40.1 percent (prior year: EUR 37.8 million). As a result, the operating margin for 2010 stands at 24 percent, thereby once again at Pfeiffer Vacuum's customary high level.

The orders received by Pfeiffer Vacuum for the 2010 financial year total EUR 223.7 million. This represents a 38.8 percent improvement over the figure for the previous year of EUR 161.2 million. The Book to Bill Ratio, i.e. the ratio of order intake to sales, stands in 2010 at 1.01 compared with 0.89 in 2009. With incoming orders of EUR 58.4 million compared with EUR 43.9 million the previous year, making a plus of 33 percent, the Q4 of 2010 was again very strong.

Manfred Bender, CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG, comments in relation to the results: "Thanks to the good fourth quarter, which came out better than we expected, we have significantly exceeded our forecasts we made in November. The successful integration of Trinos is particularly pleasing. In the first year the company is already making a good contribution to the overall results." Bender adds: "Now we dedicate ourselves to integrating the recently purchased adixen brand. The initial weeks are going according to plan. The turnover forecasts we released in November for the vacuum unit adixen, which at the time was still owned by Alcatel-Lucent, can be confirmed and so far the orders received look very promising."

The company will present the detailed, audited profit figures, its full financial statements and its dividend distribution proposal on the day of the financial statement press conference, March 29, 2011.
