Munich-based DataDesign AG, the technology leader among providers of high- security e-banking and e-contracting solutions, has invested in two newly launched financial marketplaces, acquiring a 6% stake in 4insurance.de Internetforum GmbH and a 16% share in 4privateequity.de Internetforum GmbH. 4insurance.de offers private users the opportunity to purchase insurance policies directly over the Internet. 4privateequity.de brokers investments in shipping, media, real estate, and venture capital funds.
Commenting on the company's investment, Roy von der Locht. CEO of DataDesign AG, notes, "The two enterprises operate in one of the most interesting growth markets. A recent Forit study indicates that the notion of closing insurance contracts over the Internet today already appeals to 43% of German online shoppers. For 2004, the study predicts online contract closures amounting to 26.5 billion DM. This is 8.5% of the entire insurance market."
DataDesign AG expects its commitment to this line of business to yield valuable experience that will allow the company to pinpoint the needs of the market more accurately and tailor its e-contracting solutions to satisfy them. "Both enterprises will be among the first providers to offer secure, legally binding and format mismatch-free contract closure.
