Group report as of September 30, 2000 EASY SOFTWARE: Earnings continue to meet the schedule Earnings per share increased to Euro 0.24; sales increased by 53.7 percent to DM 48.2 million.
In its group report for the first nine months of 2000, EASY SOFTWARE AG shows a DVFA/SG net income of DM 2.388 million for the period. The earnings per share increased to DM 0.46, or Euro 0.24; this amount exceeded the projected figure of Euro 0.20 per share which was announced in August. As strategic investors have acquired stakes of 80 percent each in the American and British EASY subsidiaries, these companies were no longer consolidated, deviating from the original plan. Among other things, this serves to accelerate the penetration of the market, and to expand the platform for license software sales. Moreover, the company will win back liquid assets. Notwithstanding the reduced scope of consolidation, the sales revenue within the EASY group increased significantly by 53.7 percent to DM 48.2 million (previous year DM 31.36 million). Thus, at the end of the third quarter, the sates revenue had already almost reached the volume of the entire previous year. The scope of consolidation includes ScanOptic Gesellschaft für Scanner- und optische Speichertechnologie of Muelheim; SOLSYS Solution Systems GmbH of Vienna/Austria; EASY SOFTWARE S.A.S. of Paris/France; and ZERES GmbH of Bochum. The pre-tax and pre-interest EBIT result of DM 4.24 million constituted a 124,8 percent increase over the comparable figure for the previous year (DM 1.89 million). The pre-tax EBET result increased from DM 2.03 million to DM 4.43 million. The personnel costs, including social security contributions, came to DM 21.59 million (previous year: DM 12.44 million). As of September 30 of this year, the EASY group had 292 employees (151 in the previous year); this emphasizes the significant investments in future market success. To fortify the core business, several innovative additions to the EASY range of products were released during these past weeks and were very well received at the fall trade shows "DMS Expo" in Essen and "Systems 2000" in Munich. Furthermore, EASY SOFTWARE is swiftly expanding the circle of competent solution partners for wide-ranging sales. With the reported increase in sales, the EASY SOFTWARE group Keeps growing at more than twice the rate of the overall market for document management systems (DMS). Against the background of the effected investments and preparatory work, we intend to maintain this high growth rate in the months to come.
