EASY SOFTWARE AG, listed in the Neuer Markt section of the Frankfurt stock exchange market, acquires 70% of the shares in the companies Archiv Austria GmbH in Vienna and Archiv Consult GmbH in Salzburg, backdated to January 1st of the current year.
Both software companies specialize in the document management and electronic archiving fields of business and belong to the market-leading distributors in Austria. In the future, the two recently acquired businesses will function together under the shared firm name of EASY SOFTWARE AG. According to the company, this serves to promote its further internationalization; EASY will be represented as a supplier of complete DMS solutions through its own branch offices in Salzburg and Vienna.
Henceforth, the software manufacturer's new foreign subsidiary will directly support and strategically expand the existing network of sales partners in Austria. A number of major customers, including renowned clients like Austrian Airlines or the Austrian National Bank, will be directly serviced through EASY from now on. This is in accordance with EASY's company goal of increasingly winning major corporations as customers - especially in connection with the standard business management software SAP R/3 - that require the presence of the supplier in their own country for the implementation of major projects.
The sales revenue of the new Austrian subsidiary - starting out with 18 employees - is projected to double compared to the previous year to DEM 4.5 million in the year 2000. The conservative figure for projected sales revenues in the year 2001 is DEM 6.2 million.
Following the establishment of the US subsidiary EASY SOFTWARE INC., the French EASY SOFTWARE SAS. and the British subsidiary EASY SOFTWARE (UK) PLC. in Manchester and London, the Austrian company joins them as the fourth foreign subsidiary.
