9 April 2018, Aachen, Epe. In spring 2018, Trianel Gasspeicher Epe GmbH & Co. KG (TGE) starts another tender process for an intra-year storage product with extended duration. TGE thereby reacts on the strong interest in the market and is marketing the high flexible gas storage product within one of the fastest storage facilities in Germany at an earlier date this year.

In the current tender process TGE is marketing intra-year storage product containing three stored bundles with a 50.000 MWh working gas volume each. The storage product is offered for the extended period from 1 August 2018 to 1 April 2019. All offered bundles have identical configuration of injection capacity 200 MW and withdrawal capacity 400 MW. The deadline for offers is 24 April 2018, 12:00 CET.

"The demand in the market for flexible and highly available gas storage products is great," says Carsten Haack, Managing Director of Trianel Gasspeicher Epe GmbH & Co. KG. "We started the current marketing round earlier this year and extended the duration in order to be able to meet the requirements of our customers in the best way possible." The Trianel Gasspeicher Epe is characterized by its efficient storage operation with low variable costs. Thus, during the past high-price phase in February/March 2018, the nominations of all storage products could be fulfilled without interruption. On the two peak days (26 & 27 February), TGE reached a new maximum value by withdrawing 10 percent of the maximum working gas volume.

Since 2008, TGE has operated a natural gas storage facility consisting of four salt caverns in Gronau/Epe (Westphalia), with a working gas volume of 195 million cubic metres. This is one of the fastest storage facilities in Germany, which is owned by 16 municipal utilities and semi-public shareholders.
