- Mit dem neuen Innovation Center bietet DHL der MEA Region einen zentralen Ort für die gemeinsame Entwicklung moderner Logistiklösungen mit Kunden, Partnern und Start-ups – mit Raum für bis zu 120 Teilnehmer.
- Zusätzlich investiert DHL Supply Chain 120 Millionen Euro in den Bau eines 55.000 Quadratmeter großen Multi-User-Lagers, das globale Lieferketten unterstützt und als strategisches Tor zwischen Ost und West dienen wird.
- Dieser Ausbau stärkt die Präsenz von DHL in der Region weiter.
Bonn, 4. Dezember 2025: Die DHL Group hat heute ihr neues Middle East & Africa (MEA) Innovationszentrum in Dubai South eröffnet und treibt damit die Entwicklung moderner Logistik in der Region weiter voran. Parallel dazu investiert DHL Supply Chain 120 Millionen Euro in den Bau eines neuen Multi-User-Lagers innerhalb desselben Logistikbezirks. Der Standort wird CO₂-neutral betrieben und liegt strategisch günstig in der Nähe des Innovation Centers und dem in Planung befindlichen Al Maktoum International Airport. Beide Einrichtungen verbinden Innovation mit effizienter Logistik und stärken nochmals die Präsenz von DHL in Dubai und den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten (VAE). Mit dieser Erweiterung bekräftigt die DHL Group ihr langfristiges Engagement in der Region und verknüpft Innovation noch enger mit dem operativen Geschäft der Kunden.

Innovation im Herzen von MEA vorantreiben
Das DHL MEA Innovation Center ist mit seinen 1.700 Quadratmetern eine Plattform des Ideenaustauschs. Es bringt Kunden, Partner, Start-ups und akademische Institutionen zusammen, um neue Technologien zu testen und praxisnahe Lösungen für reale Logistikherausforderungen zu entwickeln. Das Zentrum bietet spezielle Bereiche für Meetings und Workshops und ist ein wichtiger Anlaufpunkt für die Weiterentwicklung der Logistik in der Region. Vor Ort arbeiten auch Experten des regionalen Teams von DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation, die gemeinsam mit Partnern die Innovationen vorantreiben. Als Teil des globalen Netzwerks von DHL Innovation Centern in Deutschland, Singapur und den USA ermöglicht der Standort die Kooperation über Regionen hinweg, inklusive Trend-Scouting und der Entwicklung zukunftsorientierter Logistiklösungen.
Neues modernes Kontraktlogistik-Gateway für Dubai South
Für den Bereich Supply Chain hat DHL eine Vereinbarung über Investitionen in Höhe von 120 Millionen US-Dollar geschlossen, einschließlich einer langfristigen Mietbindung von 38 Jahren für ein 96.000 Quadratmeter großes Grundstück in Dubai South. Geplant ist ein 55.000 Quadratmeter großes Multi-User-Lager sowie zusätzliche Büroflächen – strategisch gelegen in der Nähe des künftigen Al Maktoum International Airport, der der größte Flughafen der Welt werden soll. Der Baubeginn ist für das erste Quartal 2026 vorgesehen, die Fertigstellung für Sommer 2027. Der Standort wird vollständig CO₂-neutral betrieben, sodass Kunden aktiv ihre Emissionen senken und ihre Lieferketten nachhaltiger gestalten können. Das neue Logistikzentrum bietet Unternehmen aus verschiedenen Branchen höchste Sicherheits- und Betriebsstandards für die Lagerung und Handhabung hochwertiger Güter. Mit dieser Investition stärkt DHL die Rolle von Dubai South als zentrales Drehkreuz für Logistik im Nahen Osten.
Das neue Lager und das MEA Innovation Center sind Teil einer umfassenden Wachstumsstrategie von DHL in der Region. Im Rahmen dieser Strategie hat das Unternehmen eine mehrjährige Investitionsagenda vorgestellt: 500 Millionen Euro will DHL in Nahen Osten investieren und weitere 300 Millionen Euro in Subsahara-Afrika – ein ambitionierter Plan, dessen Umsetzung mit diesen Projekten bereits konkret realisiert wird.

Dubai, 4 December 2025: DHL Group today officially opens its newly expanded Middle East & Africa (MEA) Innovation Center in Dubai South, reinforcing the company’s continued investment in shaping the future of logistics across the region. In parallel, DHL Supply Chain is investing €120 million in a new multi-user warehouse within the same logistics district. The facility will operate carbon-neutral and is strategically located near the Innovation Center and the upcoming Al Maktoum International Airport. Together, these developments will create a powerful hub where innovation and operations converge, expanding DHL’s footprint in Dubai and across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This strategic expansion reinforces DHL Group’s long-term commitment to the region and builds on its longstanding pioneering history, delivering closer integration of innovation and operations for customers.

Spanning 1,700 square meters, the DHL MEA Innovation Center is designed as a collaborative platform and brings customers, partners, startups, and academic institutions to foster exchange and explore emerging technologies, test scalable solutions, and co-create innovations that address real-world logistics challenges. It features dedicated meeting and workshop spaces, and serves as a regional lighthouse for logistics transformation. The center also hosts experts from DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation’s regional team, driving thought leadership and practical innovation. As part of DHL’s global network of Innovation Centers in Cologne, Singapore, and Chicago, it enables cross-regional collaboration, trend scouting, and the scalable development of next-generation logistics solutions.
New modern contract-logistics gateway to power logistics in Dubai South
DHL Supply Chain has signed a €120 million landmark agreement, including leasehold commitments, for a 38-year term on a 96,000 square meter land plot in Dubai South. The development will include a 55,000 square meter multi-user warehouse plus additional office space, strategically located near the upcoming Al Maktoum International Airport, set to become the world’s largest airport. Construction is scheduled to break ground in Q1 2026, with completion planned for summer 2027. DHL Supply Chain is committed to 100% net zero-carbon warehousing operations, enabling customers to significantly reduce their own carbon footprints by pursuing greener supply chains. Designed to serve customers across multiple sectors, the facility will handle high-value goods under stringent security and operational standards. This long-term investment underscores DHL’s renewed commitment to Dubai South as a key logistics hub for the Middle East.
The new warehouse and the launch of DHL’s MEA Innovation Center are complemented by significant infrastructure investments that reinforce the company’s regional growth strategy. Earlier this year, DHL recently unveiled its multi-year investment agenda, allocating €500 million for the Middle East and €300 million for Sub-Saharan Africa, an ambitious plan already being translated into action.
