During the fiscal year 2000 (to 31.12.), Orbis AG, a consultancy for integrated e-business-solutions and CRM supplier, achieved consolidated group sales of EUR 24.2 million (previous year EUR 21.7 million). The operating result (EBIT) posted including one-time costs for the IPO of roughly EUR 2.2 million equals a loss of EUR -7.6 million (1999: EUR 1.5 million). The annual deficit for the year 2000 was EUR -3.5 million (compared to a plus of EUR 0.3 million in 1999). The annual deficit originally predicted for 2000 totalled EUR -2.5 million.
The company's expectations were thereby not realised, regarding the sales quota for licences issuing from the web-based CRM Software introduced in September 2000. This had an immediate affect on the annual result. The main reason for the muted sales of licenses lies in the fourth quarter, which was below par throughout the entire branch. The consulting business with sales of EUR 16.3 million was very satisfying and is in line with the targets announced last September.
For 2001, the company expects to achieve total sales in the order of EUR 40 million, with a positive EBIT. Orbis AG has been listed on the Frankfurt Neuer Markt since September 25, 2000.
