Obrist's concept for a climate-friendly energy industry receives global acclaim

A technological process for the production of green methanol in the Earth's sun belt, which reduces CO2 in the atmosphere and is more cost-effective than fossil fuels.

Global Energy Summit on May 28: www.diplomatic-council.org/energysummit2024

Hangzhjou/PR China,Lindau/Germany, Lustenau/Austria – April 19, 2024 – The German-Austrian industrial group Obrist Group is reporting strong interest in its patented concept for the climate-positive production of green methanol, which can be used as e-fuels, among other things. The so-called "Obrist concept" is a technological process with which methanol can be produced as a synthetic fuel in the Earth's sun belt at lower costs compared to the extraction of fossil fuels such as oil or gas. According to the company, more carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere during methanol production than is released during its subsequent use, making it a "CO2-negative" and therefore "climate-positive" energy source.

Lively interest worldwide

"The United Nations and many other international organizations as well as numerous politicians and business leaders around the world are very pleased with the combination of clear climate protection and high economic efficiency," says Frank Obrist, the inventor of the process and CEO of the group of companies of the same name.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) named the Obrist Group "The Most Promising Solution Award Winner in Energy Efficiency Category" in 2023. The German-Austrian industrial group was promptly invited to officially introduce itself at the UNIDO Launching Event in Hangzhou (People's Republic of China) in April 2024 and to present its technology in a six-month showcase as part of the "UNIDO Industry Accelerator" at the Beijing Auto Show. Shortly before this, the book "Prosperity and Economic Growth without Regrets" (ISBN 978-3986741044), written by science journalist Jean Putz, which describes the Obrist process in a generally understandable way, was presented at the meeting of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UN CSTD) in Geneva (Switzerland).

Scientific and technical reporting

The Technisch-Literarische Gesellschaft (TeLi, Technical-Literary Society), an association for technical and scientific journalism in Germany, has called a press conference for the April 30 in Munich to give its colleague Jean Putz and inventor and entrepreneur Frank Obrist the opportunity to explain the process for the climate-friendly production of green methanol to the trade press. TeLi is committed to disseminating scientific and technical reports in a factual form - "in view of the often ideological debate about synthetic fuels, this is an urgently needed measure to educate the public without prejudice," says Jean Putz.

Frank Obrist has already been invited to present his concept for establishing a climate-positive methanol economy at the 45th International Vienna Motor Symposium (April 24 to 26) at the Hofburg in Vienna (Austria). His topic: "CO2-negative aFuel as a global energy source and solution for future electromobility". The term "aFuel" stands for "atmospheric fuel", indicating that the process removes CO2 from the atmosphere.

Energy summit on base-load-capable sustainable energy sources

On May 28, the global think tank Diplomatic Council with consultative status at the United Nations is organizing an International Energy Summit online on the topic of "Transitioning to a Green Hydrogen / Methanol Economy", at which Frank Obrist has been invited as keynote speaker ( www.diplomatic-council.org/energysummit2024). At the summit meeting of the international energy industry, board members, directors and project managers from Austria, Switzerland, Namibia, South Africa and the UK will take part as speakers to discuss the transition from fossil fuels to base-load renewable energy sources. RWE and DSE Green Technology Holdings, a consortium of over 25 European technology companies, will be among the speakers. Earlier this year, the group announced a billion-euro investment volume for methanol production projects in Asia, Africa and the USA.

Lively stream of visitors at the company headquarters in the Felix-Wandel-Haus

According to the Obrist Group, political officials have been visiting the Group's headquarters in the former Felix Wankel House in Germany for some time now. These regularly include international government delegations.

Obrist Group: Founded by inventor and entrepreneur Frank Obrist, the Obrist Group focuses on innovations for global, sustainable and CO2-reducing energy concepts. The spectrum ranges from the global supply of renewable energies and atmospheric fuels (aFuels) to innovative CO2-negative (i.e. climate-positive!) drive concepts for the automotive industry. With over 200 patents, the Obrist Group is one of the world's most important innovators in the field of sustainable energy concepts.
