- Sales 2000 grow by 60 percent to 88.5 million DM - EBIT almost tripled according to preliminary figures
According to preliminary figures, BRAINPOOL TV AG has increased its operating profit (EBIT according to IAS) for the year 2000 by 191 percent to 12.8 million DM (previous year 4.4 million DM). EBITDA rose by 103 percent from 7.9 million DM to 16 million DM. BRAINPOOL also comfortably fulfilled expectations with an increase in sales of 60 percent to 88.5 million DM.
The traditionally strong fourth quarter contributed to the returns with 32 million DM and was thus 36 percent above sales for the corresponding period last year (23.5 million DM). Due to the high number of produced formats and associated good utilization it was possible to improve EBIT by 89 percent to 7.4 million DM compared to the same period of the previous year.
Responsible for this distinct growth for the full year was in particular the increase of TV-formats from 8 (end 1999) to by now 16. BRAINPOOL has also just confirmed its forecasts for 2001, which were revised upwards only last November. The plans for 2001 (sales 161 million DM and EBIT 25 million DM) already take into account latest developments in the TV-formats, such as the phasing out of three projects and the expansion of "TV total". Not included are any sales figures from the new project "Space Commander".
