euromicron AG, listed on Frankfurt Stock Exchange's Neuer Markt, expects an increase in consolidated earnings of more than 25% for fiscal 1999.
The Managing Board has also expressed satisfaction with the sales figures. "We generated 34% of our total annual sales in the fourth quarter. This enabled us to meet the forecasts we made at the beginning of 1999, despite muted business in the first three quarters," commented euromicron AG's Managing Board.
The main driver behind sales growth was the Fibre Optics & Security Technology business unit, which recorded exceptional year-on-year growth of 47%. The other two business units also experienced above-average growth in the fourth quarter.
The company will publish US GAAP consolidated financial statements for 1999 for the first time. In addition to 1999 results, prior-year figures will also be restated to US GAAP.
euromicron AG intensified its strategy of focusing on high-tech segments in the past year. Only a few months ago, two strategic acquisitions greatly strengthened the company's position on the fibre optics technology and energy management growth markets. This year, the company also plans further acquisitions to steadily continue developing these growth segments.
In 2000, the Managing Board anticipates positive sales and earnings growth in the two high-tech segments crucial to the company's development.
