A Commitment to the Community: Koehler Group Apprentices Give Donation to Kinderschutzbund Ortenau e.V. and “Mavo der Nikolaus”

Once again, the apprentices at the Koehler Group showed their continued dedication to the community in 2025: This time, they donated all proceeds from their traditional bake sale in April and from their apple juice sales in September to two regional initiatives. Altogether, the amount donated came up to roughly 2,200 euros, making Koehler apprentices a solid source of support for the two regional recipients.
Donations presented in January
1,600 euros went to support the Oberkirch chapter of Kinderschutzbund Ortenau e.V., represented by Chairwoman Beate Kuhn-Nepita. This organization does incredibly important work related to protecting and nurturing children and teenagers and their families, as well as to safeguarding their rights. Meanwhile, Koehler Group employee Matthias Vogt was able to thank the apprentices for a donation of 655 euros, which will go to support the efforts of his eleven-person “Mavo der Nikolaus” team, which in turn focuses on helping families with children with disabilities or access or functional needs. This year, the entire dona-tion will go to a pair of siblings from Durbach, Germany who suffer from a neuromuscular disease and the son of a Koehler employee who suffers from a neurogenetic disease.
The apprentices’ dedication to the community not only represents a valuable contribution to regional programs, but also helps in making sure that we will all be there for each other. “We find it very important to let our young talent know two things early on: that a commitment to our communities is a key element of our company culture and that we proactively encourage working together and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone in our region,” Head of HR Development and Training Simone Wölfle says.
