DEAG subsidiary Coco Tours is the sole promoter of Irish superband U2's planned concerts in Munich, Cologne and Berlin for which ticket sales are to begin tomorrow, Saturday. US entertainment group SFX, the organiser of U2's world tour, has confirmed that Coco Tours will be the exclusive promoter of these concerts. This has rendered the statements made by epm Media AG on Tuesday incorrect.
This decision was relayed to DEAG on Thursday evening by SFX's British agent and representative. Now all claims made by epm Media AG, Hamburg, in its reply to DEAG's March 13 ad hoc announcement are incorrect. DEAG's lawyers wrote to epm Media AG yesterday evening requesting it to cease making any further claims regarding an involvement in these concerts.
DEAG feels obliged to clarify the situation in view of the obvious capital market relevance and underscores what it said in its March 13 ad hoc announcement, including expressly the higher revenue forecast for 2001 of DM 680 million (against DM 650 million), of which the planned U2 concerts account for roughly DM 5 million.
