BRAINPOOL TV AG has announced an upward revision of its sales and profit targets for 2001 and 2002. The sales forecast for 2001 has been increased by DM 46.6 million to DM 161.1 million (previously DM 114.5 million). In 2002, sales are now expected to rise to DM 200 million (previously DM 155.3 million). In the light of recent business deals, BRAINPOOL TV has also corrected its profit targets (EBIT) upwards. For 2001, the company now expects earnings before interest and taxes of DM 25.1 million, compared to DM 19.0 million forecast so far. The target figure for 2002 has been raised from DM 31.7 million to DM 35.9 million.
The considerably higher sales expectations are primarily based on two new projects: the cult show "TV total", which will be broadcast daily as of January and the magazine of the same name, which will be published in cooperation with Axel Springer Verlag. BRAINPOOL TV plans to build the magazine into a DM 50 million business; a positive earnings contribution is expected already for the second year.
