Splendid Medien AG, Cologne, has seen sales expand by 30 percent to DM 27.0 (20.7) million in the first half of 2000. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) improved in the same period by 54 percent to DM 20.1 (13.1) million. Operating result (EBIT) fell by 49 percent to DM 1.5 (3.0) million. This was due to a lower contribution to earnings made by secondary exploitation. Result of ordinary operations improved by 180 percent to DM 8.3 (3.0) million. Interim profit and DVFA earnings amounted to DM 6.6 million equivalent to earnings per share of DM 0.74.
