DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (WKN 551 390) more than doubled turnover and EBITDA on the year in the first nine months of 2000 according to preliminary third-quarter figures. This the DEAG board will announce at todays DVFA Media & IT Forum in Munich.
January to September 2000 earnings before interest, tax and depreciation (EBITDA) were up 103% to DM13.2 million from the previous year's DM6.5 million. Turnover in this period was up 132% on the year to DM285.1 million from DM123 million. That was due in part to highly successful Tina Turner and Bon Jovi tours and to the inclusion of STELLA Entertainment figures since April 1, 2000 as well as swiss Good News since July 1, 2000. At STELLA a successful summer campaign and an increase in capacity bookings for the german language musical productions Cats and Disney's Beauty and the Beast are reflected in the figures.
Forecasts for the full financial year 2000, DM500 million in turnover and an EBITDA of about DM29 million, have been reinforced by the successful beginning of tours featuring Britney Spears and Andre Rieu and by the promising start of the Christmas season at the group's musical and variety theatres.
The full January-September 2000 figures will be published on schedule on November 23.
