When Highlight Communications AG recently concluded a three year output deal with Fifty Cannon this marked yet another milestone in the company's history, ensuring as it does Highlight's access to top films with a guaranteed major US studio release. Fifty Cannon's motion pictures projects will be overseen by director Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Donnie Brasco).
The advantages of collaborating with Fifty Cannon are self-evident: the owners of the company have the experience to guarantee outstanding, successful movies. A collaboration of this caliber is unique and it is the first time that an agreement of this kind has been closed with a foreign media corporation. The fact that Highlight was the chosen partner reflects the latter firm's out- standing personal contacts and impressive independent distribution structure, a factor which turned out to be decisive.
Additionally, this deal gives Highlight direct access to one of the major Hollywood talent agencies, ICM, International Creative Management. ICM and JEFF SHUMWAY, one of its leading agents, are a cornerstone of the business relationship. Highlight will be granted the 'first look' on all the projects managed by SHUMWAY for ICM. ICM represents such actors as Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, Meg Ryan, Eddie Murphy and many popular writers, directors and producers. The agency boasts long years of intensive collaboration with renowned studios, thus offering Highlight a direct access to stars and top talents.
