Rechargeable battery test 2022: TÜV Rheinland awards top spot to Einhell
On behalf of German DIY magazine “Selbst ist der Mann,” TÜV Rheinland has put six selected rechargeable 4.0 Ah batteries from leading tool manufacturers through their paces. The result: With an overall score of 1.9 (on a scale from 1=best to 6=worst), the Power X-Change battery from Einhell beat off all competitor products and finished in top place. “This test win is further clear confirmation of our expertise and skills in the field of rechargeable batteries. Many years ago, we set out to establish Power X-Change as the best rechargeable battery platform in the market for tools and garden equipment. Today, every Power X-Change battery can be used in more than 200 different tools. And we are constantly expanding this offering,” explains Andreas Kroiss, CEO of Einhell Germany AG.
“Excellent” and “Good” scores across the board
Landau an der Isar, May 6, 2022 – “The rechargeable tool battery packs from Einhell are durable and sturdy,” so the conclusion in the latest issue of the DIY magazine. The Einhell battery platform was also awarded “Excellent” and “Good” scores across the board in the important areas of safety, service life, capacity and charging time.
Among other things, TÜV Rheinland awarded the top mark of “Excellent” to the displays/indicators in the charger, particularly in terms of visibility under bright conditions, and praised the lasting power of the batteries during operation. The testers also gave top marks to the excellent safety of the Einhell batteries, which feature e.g. single-cell monitoring to prevent deep discharge of a Li-ion battery. In addition to this, the Einhell battery was the only one of all the batteries tested to feature an electronic fuse, which prevents damage after a short circuit.
A success story – the Einhell rechargeable battery platform
With this test win, the class-leading rechargeable battery competence of Einhell has been confirmed yet again. In independent battery consumer tests conducted by Stiftung Warentest in edition 11/2020 of its magazine, the 2.0 Ah battery from Einhell already won the coveted “best-in-class” award with an overall grading of “Good.” But it is not only in terms of batteries that Einhell shines – its tools and products keep delivering the goods as well. Such as Cordless Lawn Mower GE-CM 36/36 Li, which came out on top in the comparative test conducted by Stiftung Warentest in its 04/2021 edition.
“These numerous excellent test results have underlined our leading role in the world of cordless, battery-powered technology and highlight the incredible success story of our rechargeable battery platform, which we will be expanding to 350 tools by 2025,” explains Andreas Kroiss.
