Professional support for new start-ups in Bavaria: Einhell Germany AG has provided MakerSpace, a publicly accessible high-tech workshop run by the company UnternehmerTUM, Europe's leading center for innovation and new business start-ups at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), with a comprehensive selection of workshop equipment. At the facility, students and ambitious start-ups in particular work on creative prototypes, ideas, and innovations.

Tool equipment for creative enablers

Landau an der Isar, June 7th, 2021 – MakerSpace, a high-tech workshop in the Entrepreneurship Center at the Garching Research Campus, was founded in 2015 as a subsidiary of UnternehmerTUM. In the publicly accessible MakerSpace, students, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and creative tinkerers can build prototypes and small batches and convert their ideas into business start-ups over 1,500 square meters of floor space. The extensive Handlungskonzept TUMentrepreneurship (TUMentrepreneurship Action Plan) is a facility set up by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) together with its affiliated institute UnternehmerTUM.

For Dr. Markus Thannhuber, Chief Technology Officer of Einhell Germany AG and former student at the Technical University of Munich, equipping MakerSpace from UnternehmerTUM with Einhell tools was a matter that was close to his heart. During a visit to the Garching Research Campus, Dr. Thannhuber personally handed over the equipment to Prof. Dr. Helmut Schönenberger, CEO of UnternehmerTUM.

“MakerSpace offers a unique opportunity for people to turn their own projects into reality using their own skills, and to design them individually and imaginatively. We want to help the many creative enablers who work here with this, which is why we decided to donate an extensive range of equipment,” explains Dr. Markus Thannhuber.

We are absolutely delighted about the new workshop equipment provided to us by Einhell, which we will be using on countless projects. One of the key elements of our mission is the development of an entrepreneurial mindset among our researchers and students. Thinking outside the box, being creative and innovative, taking risks and learning from failures, and tackling problems proactively are all important things for any career in today's dynamic and technology-driven world,” adds Prof. Dr. Helmut Schönenberger, CEO of UnternehmerTUM.
