Full power for children's charities: Einhell partners up with the foundation "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern"

After a successful business year, Einhell Germany AG felt it was time to give something back to society and has decided to partner up with the children's foundation "Stiftung RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V." The foundation set up by the Luxembourg-based media and TV group has already been running for nearly 25 years, during which time it has set up several hundred projects around the world for children and young people who are in need. Among other things, the tool and garden equipment manufacturer from Lower Bavaria will be supporting the numerous RTL children's centers as a way to deliver on its social responsibilities.
Creating a future for children
Landau an der Isar, October 13, 2020 - After challenging year, which despite the coronavirus pandemic has been one of the most successful in the history of the company, the tool manufacturer from Landau an der Isar in Germany wanted to do something to help people who are less fortunate. This is why Einhell has partnered up with the children's foundation "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern" as a step to greater social responsibility. In addition to a generous donation made during the RTL telethon, Einhell will be providing a team to support the foundation during the 24-hour Joey Kelly Challenge and will play an active role in renovating and transforming the RTL children's center in Munich next spring.
"Children are the future. This is why it is both a duty and a privilege in our self-appointed role as Einhell Enablers to give something back and help children and young people who are in need. We have decided to partner up with the children's foundation "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern" because this is a well-established charity organization, and one where we know that 100% of our contribution will actually reach the children. Of course, in part our contribution takes the form of donations, but we are also offering hands-on support and tools to help make sure that socially disadvantaged children can feel even more at home in the RTL children's center in Munich," explained Andreas Kroiss, CEO of Einhell Germany AG.
25 years of RTL telethons
Since 1996, RTL has stood up for children and young people in need all around the world. The RTL telethon fundraisers hosted by Wolfram Kons mark the highlight of the broadcaster's year-round commitments. The longest charity show on German TV will be coming to the screens again on November 19/20 this year - for the 25th time already. Thanks to the support of many partners, the viewers and the celebrities who have get involved, the foundation "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V." has already offered long-term support, with over EUR182 million raised for children's charity projects in Germany and throughout the world.
"We are delighted that, in the form of Einhell, we have found a partner who not only understands our commitment, but who actually lives this commitment themselves. Over the years, we have created countless meeting places, playgrounds, therapy rooms and even entire centers for disadvantaged children - in terms of hands-on work, there is always plenty to be done here! We think it is great that Einhell will be contributing its DIY ethos to the redesign of one of our RTL children's centers," explains Wolfram Kons, presenter of the RTL telethon and General Charity Manager at RTL.
This year's event will also see a fitness challenge in which musician and celebrity Joey Kelly will be taking part alongside several teams - 24 hours of full power for children's charities. The event will also feature a team from Einhell, who will face the unique challenge of charging a super-sized Einhell Power X-Change battery with an elliptical trainer in the space of 24 hours. This will represent a record attempt and will be monitored by Rekord-Institut für Deutschland (RID, Records Institute of Germany).

Children's charity foundation "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern" - more than EUR182 million raised since 1996
Since 1996, broadcaster RTL has been actively involved in raising money for children and young people in need all around the world. Fundraising takes place all year round in numerous campaigns. The foundation "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern" guarantees that every last Euro cent raised or donated is received by the children's charity projects involved, with nothing deducted or lost along the way as the media group RTL Deutschland covers all the costs for admin, staff, and production. This has been supported by "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern" and the RTL telethon since 1996. Every year the foundation is audited by Deutsches Zentralinstitut für Soziale Fragen (DZI, German Central Institute for Social Issues), and every year it is awarded the sought-after official DZI fund raising certificate. In this way more than EUR182 million has been raised in recent years, enabling "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern" to fund and support hundreds of children's charity projects, thereby offering long-term help to tens of thousands of children.
