In today's meeting, the Supervisory Board of Austrian Post named Georg Pölzl, 52, as the new Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Austrian Post, effective October 1, 2009. Rudolf Jettmar will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. The contract with Georg Pölzl expires on September 30, 2014.

"On the one hand, Georg Pölzl has experience as a top-manager for one of the largest publicly listed companies in Germany. On the other hand, he is a convincing choice, due to his comprehensive knowledge of the Austrian business environment. Now it is up to the entire Management Board of Austrian Post to demonstrate their unequivocal commitment towards implementing the required strategies under the leadership of Mr. Pölzl, and thus continuing the successful growth path being pursued by Austrian Post", Peter Michaelis adds.
The current Chairman of the Management Board and CEO Rudolf Jettmar states: "Georg Pölzl outstandingly complements the Management Board of Austrian Post, due to his experience in the highly competitive and liberalised telecommunications market. About Georg Pölzl Since the beginning of 2009, Georg Pölzl has served as the Spokesman of the Management Board of T-Mobile Germany. Previously, he worked as the special deputy of the Management Board of Deutsche Telekom with responsibility for implementing the successful restructuring programme at the company. Before moving to Germany, Mr. Pölzl was the Managing Director of T-Mobile Austria in Vienna. Georg Pölzl began his professional career as a corporate consultant for McKinsey & Co. Subsequently, he was appointed CEO of the mechanical engineering and plant building company Binder & Co AG. Pölzl studied at and graduated from Montana University in Leoben, Austria.
