Bonn, 1. März 2021: DHL Industrial Projects, ein auf komplexe Projektlogistik, Transportlösungen mittels Hochsee-Chartering und Schwerguttransporte spezialisierter Geschäftsbereich von DHL Global Forwarding, unterstützt Dunakeszi Járműjavító Kft bei der Abwicklung der größten Eisenbahnwaggon-Bestellung in der Geschichte Ungarns. Insgesamt werden in einem Zeitraum von 32 Monaten 676 Personenwagen vom Produktionsstandort im ungarischen Dunakeszi nach Ägypten transportiert. DHL kümmert sich um alle Aspekte des Transports der Waggons, von denen jeder 48 Tonnen wiegt, 24,5 Meter lang und 4,5 Meter hoch ist. Nach der Verladung werden die Waggons auf der Schiene zum Hafen von Koper in Slowenien transportiert, von wo aus es dann per Charterschiff über den Seeweg ins ägyptische Alexandria geht. Die ersten Eisenbahnwagen sind bereits am 23. Februar sicher in Alexandria angekommen und aufgegleist worden.

Die Eisenbahnwagen werden vom ungarischen Unternehmen Dunakeszi Járműjavító Kft, einer Tochter von TMH International AG und Magyar Vagon Zrt, für die ägyptische Nationalbahn Egyptian National Railways gefertigt und sind Teil der letzten Lieferung einer 2018 aufgegebenen Bestellung von insgesamt 1.300 Waggons. Die Waggonproduktion in Dunakeszi wird nach und nach hochgefahren. Bis Mitte 2021 sollen 25 Waggons pro Monat produziert werden. Die ersten Eisenbahnwagen sollen noch im ersten Quartal 2021 transportiert werden. Für den kombinierten See-Schienen-Transport stellt die Größe der Waggons eine besondere Herausforderung dar. Damit reiht sich dieser Auftrag in eine Reihe ähnlich außergewöhnlicher Transportprojekte ein, die bereits mit Unterstützung der Experten von DHL Industrial Projects durchgeführt worden sind.

- The order includes the transport of 676 coaches, which will be delivered over the course of the next 32 months
- The DHL team is facilitating end-to-end transport including packaging, customs clearance, and pre-carriage
Bonn, March 1, 2021: DHL Industrial Projects, a unit of DHL Global Forwarding that manages complex project logistics, deep sea chartering activity and heavy-lift cargo, is supporting Dunakeszi Járműjavító Kft with the transport of the largest order of rolling stock in the history of Hungary. In total, 676 coaches are being transferred from the production site in Dunakeszi, Hungary, to Egypt within a period of 32. DHL will manage the end-to-end transport of the coaches, each weighing 48 tons and measuring 24.5 metres in length, as well as 4.5 meters in height. Packaged for export, the coaches are transported via rail to the port of Koper, Slovenia, where DHL is integrating the cargo via its charter carriers. From there DHL will deliver the cargo via sea directly onto the railway network in Egypt at the port of Alexandria. The first batch arrived safely in Alexandria on February 23.

The coaches are manufactured by the Hungarian company Dunakeszi Járműjavító Kft, owned by TMH International AG and Magyar Vagon Zrt on behalf of the Egyptian National Railways and are part of the final batch of an order of 1,300 coaches from 2018. Gradually, the production of coaches in Dunakeszi will ramp up to reach 25 vehicles per month by mid-2021 and with the first cargo due to be transported within the first quarter of 2021. The size of the coaches presents a particular challenge in ensuring delivery via sea and rail freight, making this another example in a series of extraordinary transports supported by experts from DHL Industrial Projects.
