RENK to supply advanced test systems to the Royal Netherlands Army

  • Contract encompassing one drive train, and three engine test rigs with value in the double-digit millions range
  • RENK’s advanced test infrastructure will provide the Royal Netherlands Army with the capability to conduct full-spectrum MRO tests for its entire vehicle fleet.

Augsburg, December 8, 2025 – RENK Test System GmbH (RTS), a subsidiary of the leading supplier of military propulsion solutions RENK Group AG, has been awarded a major contract from the Army Maintenance and Logistics Command (AMLC) of the Royal Netherlands Army. The order is for the delivery of a comprehensive suite of state-of-the-art test systems for military vehicles.

"We are proud that the Royal Netherlands Army has entrusted RENK with this critical project," said Mathias Karrer, Managing Director at RTS GmbH. "This order highlights our technological leadership in the field of customized test systems. By delivering this capability, we are making a decisive contribution to the operational readiness, reliability, and longevity of the Dutch Army's ground-based vehicle fleet."

The contract encompasses one 1,500 kW full vehicle drive train test rig and three engine test rigs in graded power classes of 1,500 kW, 700 kW, and 350 kW. This advanced test infrastructure will provide the Royal Netherlands Army with the capability to conduct full-spectrum Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) tests for its ground-based vehicles – from heavy tracked vehicles, such as the Leopard 2 main battle tank, to its range of light wheeled vehicles.

The new test systems are a central component of a new, state-of-the-art facility, the “Technology Center Land”, being constructed for the AMLC of the Royal Netherlands Army. This new building will replace existing structures and integrate the test benches alongside other advanced workshops and test facilities. RENK’s scope of supply includes the test systems as well as the associated technical building equipment.

To ensure seamless project execution and local support, RENK is cooperating with the Dutch company Van Halteren Technologies, which will serve as a subcontractor for on-site services and construction support.

The order underscores the role of test systems as a strategically important element in the life cycle of military vehicles and highlights RENK's capabilities as not only a component supplier but also a system provider.
