Trade Show Debut: How Manufacturing and Digital Twins Are Converging

With the new software version 3D_Evolution 4.10, software manufacturer CoreTechnologie is showcasing the future of manufacturing at the Realize Live Americas 2026 trade show in Detroit.

The German French software manufacturer CoreTechnologie will introduce the latest version of its software, 3D_Evolution, at the Realize Live Americas trade show in early June 2026. With the new tool, semantic manufacturing information, known as Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), is read directly from native CAD data and made available in the STEP 242 format as a standardized ISO database.

Automated PMI Analysis

The foundation for intelligent systems—such as those used to automatically generate CAM programs for part manufacturing—is formed by formal or graphically represented design data in the form of semantic information. The new version of 3D_Evolution analyses if the PMI content is semantic and therefore can be processed automatically.

A major advantage here is process consistency and speed: Already in the design phase, the designer defines key 3D master information—such as alignment holes or surface finishes—which CAM systems use to automatically generate tool changes. The goal of the 3D-Master approach is to be able to live without 2D data in the future.

Optimized Manufacturing Process

The automatic transfer to the CAM system speeds up the manufacturing process and effectively prevents redundant data entry and user errors. The ISO Step 242 format, which serves as the basis for downstream processes, safeguards the value of the data in the future, as all systems rely on a uniform and well-documented format.

With the current 3D_Evolution 4.10 tool, the designer can check before conversion whether all PMI actually contain semantics or whether individual production data have been defined incompletely.

This creates a seamless connection between design, manufacturing, and operations. The digital twin can both represent the product itself and optimize and monitor the manufacturing process.

Especially in the context of smart factories and networked production systems, the 3D_Evolution conversion software thus becomes a key component of data-driven manufacturing strategies. In this way, CT CoreTechnologie creates the future-oriented foundation for precise digital twins and the networked industry.
