PRESS RELEASE

ARPA EMC and Adaptive Balancing Power Join Forces for Cutting-Edge Green Energy Solutions in Critical Infrastructure

Pfungstadt, Germany / Zaragoza, Spain, 3 June 2025 Adaptive Balancing Power (ABP), an innovative German cleantech company specializing in the development and production of kinetic energy storage systems, and ARPA EMC, a global leader in logistics and energy solutions, announce the signing of a contract for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of an ABP flywheel energy storage system. This strategic collaboration marks a milestone in the integration of renewable energy for critical infrastructure.

Operating in more than 70 countries, ARPA EMC is a trusted global supplier and a leading company in the design, engineering, development, production, deployment, and maintenance of logistics solutions for the defense, civil, health, emergency, and telecommunications sectors. Their commitment to innovation and energy efficiency is fundamental to their operations.

ABP's energy storage system will be installed within a hydrogen-powered uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system, fueled by green energy, at a Hospital in Badalona. Due to the quick responsiveness of ABP’s equipment, it will serve as a primary backup, ensuring the hydrogen fuel cell is ready for long-term service, thereby guaranteeing vital operational continuity.

"We are delighted to be working with ARPA EMC. Our energy storage systems will fit perfectly into mobile and stationary energy infrastructure in civil, health, and defense scenarios and will make a significant contribution to a reliable and environmentally friendly power supply," says Dr. Hendrik Schaede-Bodenschatz, Managing Director of Adaptive Balancing Power.

Clara Arpa, ARPA EMC CEO and Ambassador of the European Climate Pact, adds: "We offer our clients robust, resource-efficient, and safe technology in all areas. A reliable energy supply is often mission-critical, which is why we are always looking for the best possible solutions. Adaptive Balancing Power has done excellent development work in the field of kinetic energy storage. We look forward to working together in this field of innovative applications."

ABP's multi-award-winning, robust, and sustainable energy storage systems are ideal for ensuring uninterruptible power supply and smoothing out grid fluctuations, even in challenging environments. They are fully compatible with renewable energy sources, have a lifetime of over 25 years with over one million charging cycles, and can deliver up to 500 kW of power in milliseconds.
