(Cologne/Hamburg - 24 August 2000) - Splendid Medien AG, Cologne, has acquired an 85 percent stake in the newly founded multimedia agency eNter:Active Entertainment GmbH (Enteractive) with registered offices in Hamburg. Enteractive develops and produces film and video content for DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) and the Internet. The company's customers comprise Warner Home Video, Hamburg, and Columbia Tristar, Munich, apart from others.
The Managing Director of Enteractive is Hans Henseleit, who has a 15 percent equity stake in the company. Herr Henseleit is considered to be the pioneer of DVD premastering in Germany. He has provided the new company with the entire technical equipment necessary for complete premastering of DVDs as well as with numerous customers.
Enteractive will expand its complete range of products and services and will create its own licence library with interactive programme formats. The company's medium-term aim is to establish a leading position in the interactive film and video market in Europe. "Enteractive outstandingly widens our existing portfolio", says Andreas Klein, CEO of Splendid Medien. "With Enteractive we expand our licence library and add DVD premastering as well as Internet broadcasting to our business - both with an eminent meaning for the future." Enteractive is forecasting sales of DM 0.5 million by the end of 2000, and expects that this figure will amount to DM 1.5 million in 2001.
