Software AG starts with solid growth in fiscal year 2000 profit before tax more than doubles in the first quarter Operating income increases 27% Revenue grows more than 17 % Software AG has had a very positive start in fiscal year 2000. Revenue climbed to Euro 94.5 m from Euro 80.5 m in the first quarter of the previous year, which lead to a growth rate of more than 17%. This also marks an accelerated growth compared to the 1999 full year growth rate of 14 %. Major contributors to the growth in the first quarter were license revenue, which surged 18% to Euro 28.1 m (previous year Euro 23.8 m) as well as Professional Services revenue, which rose 25% to Euro 36.6 m (previous year Euro 29.3 m). The operating result before tax exceeded expectations with a 27% rise to Euro 13.8 m (previous year Euro 10.9 m). Because of income generated from the sale of holdings in other companies, the reported profit before tax increased 112% to Euro 23.1 m (previous year Euro 10.9 m).
