Wien (euro adhoc) - Vienna / Frankfurt, 17 August 2009. C-QUADRAT Investment AG (ISIN AT0000613005) finished the first half year of 2009 with EUR 13.5 million in operating income, EUR 0.1 million in pre-tax profit and EUR 0.1 million in net profit.
Operating income in the first half of 2009 amounted to EUR 13.5 million (HY1/2008: EUR 17.5 million; down 23%). Fee and commission expenses were 4% lower year-on-year (HY1/2008: EUR 8.3 million). The company´s personnel expenses were EUR 3.1 million in HY1/2009 (HY1/2008: EUR 3.8 million; down 20%), while remaining operating expenses were 35% lower year-on-year at EUR 2.2 million (HY1/2008: EUR 3.4 million). A positive profit before tax was achieved in the first six months of 2009, with net profit amounting to EUR 0.1 million (HY1/2008: EUR 2.7 million).
"The steps taken within the company are showing effects. We succeeded in returning to profitability in the second quarter and in finishing the first half year of 2009 with positive earnings figures", said Alexander Schütz, C-QUADRAT founder and Management Board member, in comments on the company´s half-year results.
