BRAINPOOL plans a journey into
space
  • Global event and TV concept determines the participants for a flight to the International Space Station ISS
  • Worldwide marketing exclusively through BRAINPOOL
BRAINPOOL AG has signed an exclusive contract with Astrium GmbH
via 100%-owned subsidiary space tv AG to provide a total of seven
flights to the International Space Station ISS. Astrium is a
subsidiary of EADS. A further key point in the agreement is the
worldwide exclusive marketing of the rights to this project through
space tv. BRAINPOOL will determine the candidates for these flights
into space, which will take place from 2002 to 2008, through a global
and multimedia entertainment and TV show concept. BRAINPOOL is thus
the first company to bring outer space into a comprehensive and
worldwide entertainment concept for the entertainment industry. The
exclusive space flights and the selection of the candidates will be
used as a global entertainment concept under the logo of "Space
Commander", something that has only been done up to now for
internationally-marketed top sporting events such as Formula 1.
BRAINPOOL plans an entire network of additional activities and
marketing projects.
BRAINPOOL has conceived a pan-European competition to select
candidates for the first of the seven flights via TV, the Internet
and special events. For the first time ever, the winner of a
comprehensive series of events can travel into space, and for the
first time ever, millions of TV viewers across Europe can watch live
as the candidates qualify for selection and finally fly into space.
BRAINPOOL is planning around 100 prime time TV broadcasts for
Germany alone. The concept is to be multiplied simultaneously in the
UK, France, Spain and Italy. The start of the project will be in
September 2001. Covering this space adventure with comprehensive TV
projects is the most important part of the worldwide transport of
what is perhaps the last great dream of mankind and the TV rights are
the most important basis of the marketing.
space tv AG, a 100%-owned subsidiary of BRAINPOOL, was set up for
targeted assessment of the "Space Commander" project; Astrium is the
cooperation partner, acting for the international space consortium.
The next steps have been planned for North America/USA, South
America and Asia. Thus the marketing model will be duplicated with
new flights into space in the individual continents.
BRAINPOOL and Astrium will give further details at a press
conference to be held on 12th December 2000 in Bremen.
