ADVA AG Optical Networking Signs OEM Agreement with Cisco Systems
ADVA AG Optical Networking (Neuer Markt: ADV) today announced that it has entered into an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Agreement with Cisco Systems Inc. of San Jose, California. Under terms of the agreement, Cisco will market, sell and support the Fiber Service Platform-II (FSP-II). The agreement is global in scope and non-exclusive.
ADVA's FSP-II product was launched worldwide in September of 1999 and is the leading enterprise Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) solution on the market today. It is a cost-effective solution not only because of its affordable cost per channel, but also because of its broad data range (10 Mbps to 2.5 Gbps) and service-provisioning features. The FSP-II is also a valuable Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) solution for carriers, enabling them to meet the current and future service needs of Fortune 500 corporations, financial institutions and governments requiring as many as hundreds of high-speed data connections among their metro facilities.
