Multimedia agency to boost PRO DV’s e-commerce strategy
The German IT specialist PRO DV Software AG (SCN 696 780) has
purchased a 50% share in Absolute Sports GmbH, a multimedia agency.
Absolute Sports used to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Borussia
Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA, the first German soccer team to be listed
on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The agency specializes in developing
and implementing marketing strategies and multimedia solutions for
top-class sports and sportsmen from the fields of soccer, athletics
and ice hockey. Plans are to turn Absolute Sports into a leading
Internet portal for sports and leisure time activities with the help
of financially strong industrial sponsors. Furthermore, a
comprehensive Internet portal for major league soccer is to be
created until the start of the 2001/2002 season.
The project know-how and the innovative spirit of its new
technology partner PRO DV will complement Borussia Dortmund’s
excellent connections and its substantial industry-related
experience. PRO DV plans to accomplish the break- even in the year
2002.
With this purchase, PRO DV Software AG further extends its
business activities according to its e-commerce strategy, which
capitalizes on the companies core competencies.
