euromicron AG will focus completely on the area of fiber optics technology/data networks in future. This is the conclusion of euromicron AG's deliberations about whether to pursue a new strategic focus, which was announced at the General Meeting at the end of May.
The new strategy approved by the Supervisory Board is now fact: as management company, euromicron AG will be directly responsible for the business areas components, assembly and technology, systems technology, project business, engineering and installation, as well as for services, servicing, wholesale and retail in the market for fiber optic data networks.
euromicron AG will not continue to pursue its activities in the extremely promising Energy Management business unit. Instead, the company will look for new partners for this business unit as a whole, or for its individual companies, in order to maintain these companies' levels of expertise, as well as their market position and earnings power, and further develop them in industry.
The acquisition of equity interests will continue to be part of euromicron AG's business policy. However, equity interests will not be one of the AG's strategic components in future, and will essentially be subject to three criteria: they must be highly profitable, completely independent and be a lucrative asset in their sector in the long run.
Using this strategy, euromicron AG bundles its resources in the high-growth market for fiber optic transfer technology in which the company already plays a significant role.
