Mark Dekan appointed new CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG

Effective from 1 March 2013, Mark Dekan, 36, will take over as Chief Executive Officer of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG. He will retain his position as Chief Financial Officer. The current CEO Florian Fels, 45, is appointed CEO Publishing for Ringier AG, thus taking over responsibility for the core business of the Swiss media company. As a consequence of this move by Florian Fels, the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG group management will in the future comprise two members, Mark Dekan as CEO/CFO and Chief Digital Officer Patrick Boos, 45.
Mark Dekan had several years of experience in senior financial positions in the logistics sector, before being appointed Commercial Director of the Finance and Services Division at Axel Springer AG in 2008. He took over the position of Chief Financial Officer of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG upon the establishment of the joint venture in 2010.
