Governor Whitmer, RENK Group Announce Additional Investment in Michigan
Augsburg, February 13, 2026 – Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined RENK Group Dr. CEO Alexander Sagel to announce RENK Group’s continued strong commitment towards the 26th U.S. state. RENK is investing a total of $70 million in capital expenditures and $80 million in research and development in Michigan from 2024 to 2030.
“Michigan is the birthplace of modern manufacturing, and RENK’s investments in the state reinforce our position as a leader in the future of defense,” said Governor Whitmer. "These critical investments bring job opportunities that will help Michigan families thrive and strengthen America's national security.”

Dr. Sagel added that RENK is creating up to 270 new jobs in Michigan between 2024 and 2030. He also noted that the company continues to actively explore potential M&A opportunities in the state. These efforts reflect the company’s confidence in Michigan’s talented workforce, strong industrial base, and supportive business environment.

This expansion will strengthen those facilities while supporting Michigan’s advanced manufacturing leadership.
