DataDesign AG looks Back on a Positive Year, Revenues Expected to Surge Again in 2001.
DataDesign will close out the current year with revenues topping the 30 million DM (+145%) mark. Two unrelated developments have impacted the company's earnings situation: A major project fell through in Korea due to the customer's financial difficulties, and the demand for DataDesign's ASP offerings, which are based on a monthly payment model, rose. This means that a share of the revenues expected for this year will be realized next year. On these grounds, the company will see its originally projected loss of some negative 1.7 million DM for the full year 2000 confirmed. On a brighter note, the great demand on the domestic market allowed DataDesign to out- perform its goals so that the extremely successful third-quarter performance will be followed by a fourth-quarter operating profit. In view of the unflagging demand for new, secure e-banking applications and the remarkable level of interest in e-contracting - a suite of products introduced this year to enable legally binding contract closure via Internet - DataDesign's management again expects significant revenues growth for the coming year. The company's revenues forecast calls for 45 million DM, while profits are expected to range between three and four million DM.
