DataDesign, a leading infrastructure provider for Web business transaction and security solutions will welcome two new officers to the executive board on January 1, 2001, upping the board's membership from two to four. "Now that our efforts over the past 12 months have set the stage for growth, we're ready to focus on our charted course. We're moving ahead with our indirect marketing drive and aggressive internationalization campaign, and turning DataDesign AG into a product/application company. To achieve these goals, we are compelled to broaden the scope of our managerial competence at the executive level and delegate responsibilities and tasks more efficiently," notes Roy von der Locht, CEO of the listed enterprise. He considers it particularly important that the new executive officers will shoulder some of the load he had previously borne alone. "I am delighted that DataDesign was able to win over two new highly qualified executive officers. Commenting on the supervision board's unanimous decision, Roy von der Locht points out, "This affords me the opportunity to concentrate on my core competencies."
The executive board welcomes Philip Hartley, who was named Chief Operating Officer (COO), and tasked with the responsibility for Global Sales/Global Partner Management, Product Management, Product Sales, Business Consulting and Support. Hailing from England, Hartley will leave General Electric to join DataDesign, bringing with him many years international experience and long-standing management expertise.
Gerhard Weichenhain, since April the Director of Finance at DataDesign, was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will helm Finance, Administration and Human Resources.
Roy von der Locht, Chief Executive Officer, heads Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development (M&A), Business Development, Marketing Communication, Investor Relations, Public Relations and interfaces with partners at the executive level.
As Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Michael Reithinger continues to skipper Product Development, Internet Solutions, Project Controlling and the Academy.
