New times from NOMOS Glashütte

The trade fair in Geneva—the largest industry event for watch professionals—has begun. This spring, NOMOS Glashütte is presenting its latest releases as well. CEO Uwe Ahrendt: “This event is environmentally friendly and easily accessible. We greatly welcome it.”

GLASHÜTTE, APRIL 7. The watches that NOMOS Glashütte are presenting at Watches and Wonders this spring follow in the long-standing tradition of Glashütte watchmaking. Geneva, where the largest industry event for watch professionals is taking place until April 13, may be 1000 kilometers away from the small German town. But this is where the mechanical timepieces are handcrafted, drawing on the 175-year heritage of Glashütte. There are four new releases:

Tangente Update, the successful model first introduced in 2018, is now available in a new dial color—which makes the overall design sportier and more dynamic. This watch with its twice-patented date function is available this year in midnight blue with bright green date markers. Its full name is Tangente neomatik 41 Update midnight blue.

Another new release from NOMOS Glashütte features the same mechanical movement. This model combines prizewinning design with innovative technology: Metro Update. Or to give the watch its full title: Metro neomatik 41 Update. The heritage of 175 years of mechanical watchmaking combined with modern product design has resulted in a classically beautiful timepiece.

What are the colors that represent this moment in time? There are two answers from the next generation of watches, Club Campus—designed to celebrate life’s milestones. Club Campus Future Orange and Club Campus Absolute Gray come in two sizes and with a complimentary engraving, making them great gifts.

The last new release is not just a watch, but a fundraiser for an important cause too: Tangente 38 – 50 ans Médecins Sans Frontières. Marking the 50th anniversary of Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières), this new limited-edition timepiece raises funds for the emergency medical aid organization. Available internationally for the first time and limited to 2021 pieces.

Watches & Wonders is taking place digitally this year, making it the first online-only event for NOMOS Glashütte. “We welcome the opportunity to reach a new and important audience with our latest releases,” says Uwe Ahrendt, NOMOS CEO. Digital events are a positive development: “Online trade fairs will continue to be a part of our business in the future; they are environmentally friendly and easily accessible. Even as a mechanical watch company, we welcome digitalization!”

NOMOS Glashütte is the largest watch producer in Germany by quantity, all of which are handcrafted in Glashütte. You can find further information about these new timepieces in the individual press releases linked above, and in this short video from our CEO on the Watches and Wonders website. As well, of course, directly from us.
