Four of the ten fastest-growing technology companies in Germany in 2021 were founded or co-founded by WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management graduates, as evidenced by the recently presented Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award. The fact that WHU has produced five so-called unicorns this year alone is also testimony to the excellent startup opportunities and comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem of the private business school.

Four WHU Founders Receive Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award

Every year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award recognizes the fastest-growing companies in the technology sector across several countries. This year, no fewer than four companies founded by or founded with the involvement of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management alumni made it onto Germany’s Top 10 list. Companies honored by the auditing and financial consultancy include solar panel rental company Enpal, the RightNow Group - which assists private customers with reimbursements, online logistics provider InstaFreight, and market research institute Appinio. The award provides recipients with access to collaborations with new business partners, investors, and customers.

The four companies with WHU roots which made it onto this year's Top 10 list of the fastest-growing German technology companies are:

1st place: Mario Kohle, Viktor Wingert, and Jochen Ziervogel - Enpal

2nd place: Phillip Eischet - RightNow Group

7th place: Maximilian Schaefer - InstaFreight, and

8th place: Matthias Depenbusch (also co-founder of the start-up Avisio) – Appinio.

Additionally, WHU graduate Maximilian Seifert was awarded the Deloitte Challenge Award for his company, Cosuno Ventures GmbH.

The entrepreneurial ecosystem at WHU is characterized by a very lively and fruitful exchange between students interested in founding their own company, top-notch academics, successful alumni founders, and investors. WHU's Master in Entrepreneurship program offers budding young entrepreneurs a wide variety of support services involving fellow founders, mentors, and networking events to help them successfully establish their own startups.
