München, 3. Juni 2025: Der Logistikanbieter DHL Group, der Nutzfahrzeug-Hersteller Daimler Truck und der Nutzfahrzeugvermieter hylane GmbH haben heute auf der „transport logistic“-Messe in München eine Kooperation im Bereich vollelektrischer Lkw unterzeichnet. Die Partnerschaft sieht vor, dass DHL 30 E-Lkw des Typs Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 über das „Transport as a service Modell“ von hylane bezieht. DHL kauft die Fahrzeuge also nicht, sondern hylane rechnet auf Basis der tatsächlich gefahrenen Kilometer mit DHL ab. Die E-Lkw sollen im Unternehmensbereich Post & Paket Deutschland im Transport zwischen Paketzentren zum Einsatz kommen. Die Trucks sollen bis Ende des zweiten Quartals 2026 ausgeliefert werden. Für hylane markiert die Ergänzung der Flotte um 30 eActros 600 eine gezielte Erweiterung des bestehenden Portfolios, das bislang auf brennstoffzellenelektrische Lkw fokussiert war. Für die drei Partner ist dies zugleich der größte Vertragsabschluss für E-Lkw in Deutschland in diesem Jahr.

Über den Mercedes-Benz eActros 600
Der Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 ist das neue Flaggschiff unter den batterieelektrischen Lkw von Mercedes-Benz Trucks und zielt auf das Langstreckensegment, das für zwei Drittel aller CO2-Emissionen des schweren Straßengüterverkehrs in Europa verantwortlich ist, ab. Seit Dezember 2024 wird der E-Lkw an Kunden ausgeliefert. Mit über 600 kWh Batteriekapazität und einer Reichweite von rund 500 Kilometern [1] überzeugt das Fahrzeug insbesondere durch Effizienz und Alltagstauglichkeit. Durch Zwischenladen während gesetzlicher Pausen sind sogar über 1.000 Kilometer pro Tag möglich.
Der eActros 600 ist mit Batterien auf Basis der langlebigen Lithium-Eisenphosphat-Zelltechnologie (LFP) ausgestattet und verfügt über eine neu entwickelte elektrische Antriebsachse. Seine Praxistauglichkeit stellte der eActros 600 bereits bei intensiven Testfahrten durch Europa unter Beweis und wurde dafür mit dem Titel „International Truck of the Year 2025“ ausgezeichnet. Die Auszeichnung ist der wichtigste Preis der Branche und wird von der International Truck of the Year Organisation, bestehend aus 24 Nutzfahrzeug-Fachjournalisten aus Europa, jährlich verliehen.
E-Lkw sind Bestandteil des KsNI- Förderprogramms
Die E-Lkw, die DHL im Rahmen der Partnerschaft mit hylane und Daimler Truck beziehen wird, sind noch Bestandteil des bereits ausgelaufenen KsNI- Förderprogramms (Klimaschonende Nutzfahrzeuge und Infrastruktur) der Bundesregierung. Dieses verfolgt(e) das Ziel, die Treibhausgasemissionen mit Einsatz von alternativen Antrieben und Kraftstoffen im straßengebundenen Güterverkehr zu senken.
DHL verfügt über große nachhaltige Lkw-Flotte in Deutschland
Die 30 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 ergänzen die nachhaltige Flotte des Logistikers DHL, die bereits 16 E- und 450 CNG-Lkw im Transport sowie 32.400 Elektrotransporter für die Letzte-Meile-Zustellung umfasst. Dazu kommt die Ladeinfrastruktur mit 10 CNG-Tankstellen und 41.000 E-Ladepunkten. DHL verfolgt das Ziel, alle Emissionen bis 2050 netto auf null zu reduzieren. Dabei soll der Anteil von Fahrzeugen im Transportbereich mit alternativen Treibstoffen oder Antrieben bis 2030 auf ca. 30 Prozent erhöht werden.
[1] Die Reichweite wurde unter spezifischen Testbedingungen, nach Vorkonditionierung mit einer 4x2 Sattelzugmaschine mit 40 Tonnen Gesamtzuggewicht bei 20°C Außentemperatur im Fernverkehrseinsatz, intern ermittelt und kann von den nach der Verordnung (EU) 2017/2400 ermittelten Werten abweichen.

Munich, June 3, 2025: The logistics provider DHL Group, commercial vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck, and commercial vehicle rental provider hylane GmbH today signed a cooperation agreement in the field of fully electric trucks at the "transport logistic" trade fair in Munich. The partnership stipulates that DHL will obtain 30 electric trucks of the type Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 through hylane's "Transport as a Service model." This means DHL will not purchase the vehicles; instead, hylane will bill DHL based on the actual kilometers driven. The electric trucks are set to be used in the Post & Parcel Germany division for transport between parcel centers. The trucks are expected to be delivered by the end of the second quarter of 2026. For hylane, the addition of 30 eActros 600 trucks marks a targeted expansion of its existing portfolio, which has so far focused on fuel cell electric trucks. For the three partners, this also represents the largest contract for electric trucks in Germany this year.

About the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is the new flagship among the battery-electric trucks from Mercedes-Benz Trucks and targets the long-distance segment, which is responsible for two-thirds of all CO₂ emissions from heavy road freight transport in Europe. The electric truck has been delivered to customers since December 2024. With over 600 kWh of battery capacity and a range of around 500 kilometers, the vehicle impresses particularly with its efficiency and practicality. By recharging during mandatory breaks, distances of over 1,000 kilometers per day are even possible.
The eActros 600 is equipped with batteries based on durable lithium iron phosphate cell technology (LFP) and features a newly developed electric drive axle. The eActros 600 has already proven its practicality during intensive test drives across Europe and has been awarded the title of "International Truck of the Year 2025." This award is the most prestigious in the industry and is presented annually by the International Truck of the Year organization, consisting of 24 commercial vehicle journalists from Europe.
Electric trucks are part of the KsNI funding program
The electric trucks that DHL will acquire as part of the partnership with hylane and Daimler Truck are still part of the already expired KsNI funding program (Climate-Friendly Commercial Vehicles and Infrastructure) of the federal government. This program aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the use of alternative drives and fuels in road freight transport.
DHL has a large sustainable truck fleet in Germany
The 30 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks will complement DHL's sustainable fleet, which already includes 16 electric trucks and 450 CNG trucks in transport, as well as 32,400 electric vans for last-mile delivery. Additionally, there is charging infrastructure with 10 CNG fueling stations and 41,000 electric charging points. DHL aims to reduce all emissions to net zero by 2050, with the goal of increasing the share of vehicles in the transport sector using alternative fuels or drives to about 30 percent by 2030.
[1] The range was determined under specific test conditions, after preconditioning with a 4x2 tractor unit with a total trailer weight of 40 tons at an outside temperature of 20°C in long-distance operations, and may differ from the values determined under Regulation (EU) 2017/2400.
