The management board team of
Basler AG - leading supplier of Vision Technology, the technology of
artificial vision - reorganises itself in order to optimally set the
company on a straight course in its further growth. Chairman of the
Board Dr. Dietmar Ley (37) will be in charge of the fastest growing
vision components segment (the Machine Vision Components business
unit - camera business) and the Vision Systems segment (inspection
systems for optical storage media, sealings, flat screens and plastic
foils) as well as the overall corporate strategy, whereas Chief
Financial Officer Thorsten Schmidtke (36) will be responsible for the
scopes of finance, organization, investor relations, production,
quality management, human resources as well as the foreign daughters.
In order to fully exploit the future potentials of vision technology
through the creation of leading and innovative products, former board
member Bryan Hayes (33) is leaving the management board with
immediate effect in order to give his undivided attention to the
management of the Research & Technology sector.

This reorganization of the management board ensures an improved
basis for competetive edges through innovative products. Over and
above that this will pave the way for a reorientation in the highly
successful business units (inspection systems for optical storage
media and sealings) towards a consistent profit maximization and in
the younger business units (camera business, inspection systems for
flat screens and plastic foils) towards maximum sales and EBIT growth
rates.
