Highlight Communications AG, Pfäffikon, Switzerland successfully
continued on its growth course in the first nine months of 2000,
easily exceeding its forecasts.
The Highlight Group's consolidated revenues rose to CHF 115.9 mn,
72% higher than in the first nine months of 1999 (CHF 67.3 mn).
Nine-month EBIT increased by 182% from CHF 10.6 mn in the year-ago
period to CHF 29.9 mn. With DVFA/SG consolidated earnings of approx.
CHF 20.7 mn, the year-ago figure (CHF 8.8 mn) was exceeded by 135%.
DVFA/SG earnings per share in the year to 09/30/00 therefore stand
at approx. CHF 0.46 (Euro 0.30). This figure is already based on the
10% higher share capital following the capital increase. Thus, 86% of
the earnings forecast for the entire year (Euro 0.35 per share) was
achieved in the first nine months.
The Highlight Group's positive performance caused operating cash
flow to increase to CHF 64.9 mn. As a result, liquidity reserves of
approx. CHF 172.3 mn are available for further extensions to its
business and specific acquisitions.
In the TV marketing segment, license agreements have been signed
with leading TV broadcasters. Highlight Film landed two No. 1 movie
hits in Germany with "U-571" and "Scary Movie", although the effects
of this success will only show up in 4th quarter figures. In the
Sports segment, the TEAM Group, which holds the exclusive and global
rights to market the UEFA Champions League, continued to
systematically harness the marketing potential of the UEFA Champions
League. Work progressed on building up the New Business segment,
which - according to the planned figures for 2000 - is not expected
to generate any revenues this fiscal year.
Given its performance to date and the Groups business development,
the Highlight Group is poised to maintain its strong momentum in 2000
and beyond.
