Süss MicroTec AG: Fiscal Year 2000 with Impressive Growth
Süss MicroTec AG announced today the audited results of fiscal year 2000 and reported significant growth rates for sales and earnings.
A remarkable growth of the Süss group becomes obvious when looking to the order entry of Euro 230 Mio., which is a 119% annual growth rate if compared with the 1999 figure. At the same time the net sales increased by Euro 78 Mio. in 1999 or 93% (compared to the restated pro-forma sales) up to Euro 162 Mio. at the end of fiscal year 2000, with the negative impact of the new US-GAAP accounting rule SAB 101 already included. Due to the high numbers of orders taken in, the order book has been increased by 208 % compared to December 31st,1999 to Euro 118 Mio. at the end of December 2000.
The pre tax profit for the fiscal year 2000 increased significantly from Euro 2.6 Mio. at the end of fiscal year 1999 to Euro 29.1 Mio. at the end of 2000. At the same time the after tax earnings went up to the final number of Euro 11.96 Mio. or as EPS to 0.91 Euro per share, coming from Euro 0.51 Mio. total or Euro 0.05 per share at the end of 1999.
Management expects also for the running year 2001 to further increase sales and earnings, despite the present overall situation in semiconductor industry. Süss has a strong position in the growth markets of Advanced Packaging, Telcom IC's and Micro System Technology and all these markets are forecasted to provide very exciting growth potential. For the fiscal year 2001 the company's plan figure are a total sales of Euro 210 Mio. Euro and an after tax earning of Euro 16 Mio.
Süss MicroTec AG is one of the market leader for Manufacturing and Test Equipment for the Semiconductor industry. The company is changing its role from a supplier of single production tools to a supplier of production systems containing different individual tools. This strategy has been very successful in the past as Süss could offer an "added value" to the customers, resulting in increased margins and improved overall earnings.
