Cuxhaven (euro adhoc) - 22nd September 2010 - The wind farm developer, PNE Wind AG (ISIN: DE000A0JBPG2), has constructed four Enercon E53 wind energy systems with a total height of 100 metres and a nominal power rating totalling 3.2 MW in the Elze wind farm in the Wesemark district (Lower Saxony). This wind farm has now been commissioned and was handed over today to the purchaser, EnBW Erneuerbare Energien, during the "Husum WindEnergy 2010" trade fair.

The Elze wind farm is one of seven wind farms in total, which PNE WIND AG is to construct for EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH. Four of these wind farms have already been constructed and a further one with a total nominal rating of 12 MW is currently under construction.

Martin Billhardt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PNE WIND AG, says: "We have a trusting and successful working relationship with EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH and are very pleased about the handover of this new project. Due to our extensive project pipeline, we are confident of being able to hand over many more wind farm projects to our customers."

For EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH, Stefan Thiele, spokesman for the Board of Directors said: "PNE WIND AG has proved itself to be a reliable and competent partner in the joint projects we have undertaken so far. We are already looking forward to continuing our co-operation."

The wind energy systems constructed in Elze produce enough environmentally friendly wind power to supply the annual electricity requirements of about 1,650 private households. The wind farm therefore makes a significant contribution to environmental protection because the environmentally friendly production of electricity from wind saves the environment annually from more than 3,500 tons of carbon dioxide and other contaminants as well as avoiding the need for mining about 6,900 tons of lignite.

Company profile

PNE WIND AG with its headquarters in Cuxhaven develops and implements wind farm projects on land (onshore) and at high sea (offshore). Alongside its business activities in the established German home market, PNE WIND AG is also increasingly investing in dynamic growth markets and has subsidiaries and representations via joint ventures in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, the UK, USA and Canada. Wind farm projects with a nominal output of about 5,500 MW are currently being processed in these countries and are to be implemented in the medium term. In Germany (onshore) currently wind farm projects with a nominal output of more than 900 MW are being processed.

Furthermore, PNE WIND AG develops offshore wind farm projects, three of which have already been approved in German waters. Entering promising foreign markets is also being examined for the offshore area.
